Special days
Throughout the year we have a number of special days in the school that involve members of our community and may also celebrate certain events. These days are looked forward to with eagerness and anticipation.
Anzac Day Memorial Service
As has been the tradition at St Michael's, at the Anzac Dawn Service held in Hahndorf, our two School Captains, Campbell Byrne and Alicia Barron an, attended a laid a wreath on behalf of St Michael's.
Mother's Day
On Friday the 11th of May our traditional Mother's Day worship service was held in St Michael's Lutheran Church. The service was hosted by Mrs Hall's class (5FH)
After the service a light morning tea was provided in Bukatila.
Father's Day Breakfast
On Friday 31st of August approximately 200 School Father's attended a Father's Day Breakfast. This was attended and 'cooked' by our School Council Members who kindly cooked pancakes for all of our dads. There was also a celebration chapel service to honour our fathers afterwards.
Grandfriends Day
On Thursday the 25th of October, we held our Annual Grandfriends Day. This is a special day where special friends are invited to come to the school and children show them around their classroom and school. Activities are held in the classroom for all to participate in. It is always an exciting day and with over 400 grandparents and special friends attending! Visitors were then invited to a morning tea held in Bukatila. After morning tea special friends were invited back over to St Michael's Lutheran Church for a small concert and farewell to Mr Paterson.
The students and staff really enjoy these days showcasing their work and their school.
